Only once before have I received such bad customer service as I received today and that was also at Crown Green Bowls. Last year I had my bowls lacquered and it came off within two months. I took them back and was asked to return when the gaffer was there. I returned 3 times and each time he wasn't there. The assistant was nothing short of useless so in the end I gave up. I haven't used the bowls since. Today I went to collect some bowls for Stuart Gittings which had been refurbed. At first they said they had no knowledge of the bowls. Ten minutes later they found them and asked me for £40. I told them they had been paid for but the 'lad' was adamant they hadn't. I rang Stu and he told the chap that he had paid £80 for new bowls and £40 for the refurb. The chap said ok and would find the receipt. Twenty minutes later he said he couldn't find the receipt so wouldn't release the bowls. I asked him to show me the receipt for the new bowls as it was on there. He said he couldn't find that either. He was very arrogant and abrasive and eventually I had to leave the shop before before I gave him his comeuppance. I wasted over an hour of my time and petrol money to achieve absolutely nothing. I look forward to him denying Stu his bowls back when he goes in. In my opinion they are a totally incompetent business that should be avoided by all bowlers. You will only get grief if my experiences are anything to go by. Talk about going downhill, they've slumped lower than a snakes belly.
